hungry?
What happened to that Indie Threads site, anyway?
So, we kind of fell off the map, eh?
Not for much longer though. I'm working only one job again and I'm tinkering with Indie Threads related things again. Mainly overhauling the entire site. I'm re-coding everything from scratch. Making it look tons better (different from the previous post, by the way). I'm also working on adding completely new features. I'm keeping that one up my sleeve for awhile though because it's still just in it's idea stages.
One of the things I'm trying to do with Indie Threads 3.0 is take the focus off the blog (because you see how much it's getting updated) and put it more on the community. I want people to come here and find new friends and contacts. There are a ton of t-shirt blogs if you need your fix. I'm going to re-do the forums all together and integrate them into the site instead of the way it is now.
It's just going to be all around better. I'll update with more info as things progress so keep checking back.

Proof it's not dead...

An explanation for the entire lack of communication
So, I've got bills. In order to pay these bills, I have to make the monies.
I have two jobs and I'm working around 50 hours a week right now. Not a whole lot of time to be doing internet things. The bad thing is, I don't like one of my jobs at all.
Another interesting fact: My car completely died.
So, yeah. Life is pretty tough at the moment but hopefully things start looking up.
If you are itching to talk about t-shirts, let me know and I'll set you up to blog here if you want.

SEIBEI vs. Hot Topic/Goodie Two Sleeves *Update*
It's probably unlikely that you don't already know, but for the people that don't check out David's blog everyday like me, Seibei has won. Hot Topic has agreed to discontinue the G2S shirts, so once they're all gone, they're gone. Until G2S decides to sell them themselves or through another vendor, which hopefully never happens.
It turns out that Hot Topic was pretty cool about the whole thing and actually cares about the indie tee community. ...Or they saw the reaction this whole situation was getting and didn't want to put their foot in their mouth. I'll try and be positive, and say it's the former.
All in all, I'm happy with the situation. Also, David has mentioned something about the Sandwich Dino becoming available in packs so you can get more for a lower price. You can read more about that and their victory here.

SEIBEI vs. Hot Topic/Goodie Two Sleeves

I've been wanting to talk about this since I first learned of it a few weeks ago but I've waited until David made it public first.
It appears that SEIBEI has been ripped off by a company that can't seem to come up with anything original. This company is called Goodie Two Sleeves (I'm not linking them purposely because I don't think that they should get the publicicty), whom you can email here: contact@goodie2u.com
The real kicker is that they've sold these shirts to the mega company, Hot Topic. So, they're probably making a pretty decent paycheck from something they put very little effort into.
As an independent t-shirt designer, this really pisses me off. First off, I've seen every one of their shirts at pretty much all of the other generic "funny" t-shirt stores and now they're going after well respected, hard working people that are actually creative.
If you want to read more, you can check out Davids' blog over at http://www.seibei.com/blog/?p=341. There's a link to contact Hot Topic in the replies over there. Oh, and also, be sure to email Goodie Two Sleeves with your opinion on the matter.
Meanwhile, you should probably pick up the original, and far superior design at http://www.seibei.com/shop/sandino.html.
Weekend Discussion: Favorite Shirt of '07
I've seen the blogs with the "Favorite Shirts of '07" but I'm (not really) going to shake things up!
What's your favorite shirt from the year 2007?
My response is in the comments.

Next Interview Suggestions?
I'm not going to promise anything really soon, but I don't think that it's too early to start this.
I'm making pretty good progress on the new site and I want to have a new interview when I launch it, hopefully soon (weeks or months... not days). I've got a few ideas in mind that I wouldn't mind seeing, but I want to know yours.
Who do you want to see an interview with on Indie Threads?

New Site Update : Photo Galleries

I'll be honest, I've not made a great deal of progress on the new site since the last time I updated about it. I've been focusing on Quixotic, work, and the holiday season that was approaching. However in the last few days I've been hacking away it and improving the photo gallery portion of the member profiles.
I know that this doesn't look all that different, but I promise that it is. First off, let me say that I've never been all the happy with the way that I coded them. It was first made using an html form which if you clicked it, it would take you to the correct photo, which is what I wanted, but if you decided that you needed to refresh the page you got that annoying pop-up thing saying that it contained "POST DATA" and "Are you sure yadda yadda yadda..."
Well, now that's gone. I've taken the time to make it work the way that it should. Now, it's like clicking an image and the link taking you to the bigger version of it. It shouldn't have been as difficult as it was to get it to work, but it was and I'm glad I got through it.
Some other things I intend to do with the galleries is to tinker around with some php and dynamically create thumbnails of all the images so they don't look all wonky being resized in the sidebar. That shouldn't be too hard... I hope. Also, I'm going to add comment features to all the pictures, so now you can talk about them.
Bring it on, 2008!
New Years is less than two hours away for me and those in the Eastern Time Zone. I'll probably be watching movies and having chick drinks - 'cause that's what I like.
I don't have any resolutions, really. I would like to do things but I'm not going to set myself up for failure. ...Is that too negative?
What are your plans for New Years? Or, What did you do for New Years if you read this tomorrow? What about resolutions?

It Still Feels Like October In My Head...
The last couple of months have just flown by. It's crazy. Christmas is on Tuesday. I figured that the couple weeks leading up to this point would just drag out and take forever but they surprisingly didn't. Let's just hope that winter keeps this trend up and it turns warm and green outside quickly again.
So, my question to you... well, those who celebrate anyway: Did you get your shopping done? What are you hoping to get for Christmas?
