What
Indie Threads, to put it as simple as possible, is a T-shirt blog on the roids.
However, to put it a little less simple, it's way more than that. Indie Threads is a place for independent shops to come and network with other independent shops. It's also here for people who support and are fans of these shops. Anyone is free to join and make new friends, whether you've got a shop or if you just like to shop.
Now, don't be discouraged if you don't have a t-shirt shop. We're here for people with any kind of shop as long as you're independently run. We even feature some crafty stuff in the blog, so everyone is welcome.
Who
Indie Threads is currently a one man show. It's run by myself, Brad, in my spare time. I coded the site myself and built it from the ground up. It took me a few months, August 2006 - November 2006 to get it into this beta version.
I also run a clothing company, Quixotic Clothing. I've been doing that for almost a year but before that I ran a different company called Heart on Sleeve. I did that for about three years - from when I was about 16 until I was about 19. I didn't really treat HoS like a professional company and I wanted a little more ethical of a company, so I was pretty much looking at starting everything over, so I decided to change the name and everything.
In both companies I designed and printed all the shirts myself. Well, at the beginning of Heart on Sleeve I didn't know how print anything except for some paper out of an inkjet printer, so I had a different company print the shirts, but in order to save money I taught myself how to screen print. I also make all the pins at Quixotic.
